Pinnaiyur  is a  village of Orathanadu Taluk and it is located 8 km south. This village has several temples including Sivan, Vinayaga, Murugan and Ayyanar temples. The former Thiruvonam M.L.A. Mr. Ramachandran, also called Mr. MR, and the IAS officer Mr. PanneerSelvam are from this village. Many people in this village are well educated.
